Inhibition of Lymp hocyte - ADC C by A - Neutrophils Cells
نویسندگان
چکیده
Human neutrophils, activated by phorbol-myristate acetate (PMA). (A-neutrophils), were found to suppress lymphocytic killer (K) cell-mediated antibody-dependent cellular cytotoxicity (ADCC). Resting (R) neutrophils, ie, PMAuntreated cells, were completely ineffective. Suppression was optimal when A-neutrophils were added at the beginning of the ADCC assay. Furthermore, A-neutrophils were found to cause an approximately 80% reduction in the number of Raji target cell-bound lymphocytes. These data indicate that A-neutrophils inhibit K cell activity by interfering with the target cell recognition. A-neutrophils were capable of reducing the percentage of Fc receptor (FcR)bearing lymphocytes with a half-time of 7.2 minutes, through a process preventable by the serine-protease inhibitors tosyl-lysine-chloromethyl ketone (TICK) and lima bean trypsin inhibitor (IBTI). Conversely. A-neutro-

Antimalarial activity of extract and fractions of Castanopsis costata (Blume) A.DC
Objective: One of the biggest health problems in the world, which occurs in more than 90 countries, is the spread of malaria. Cep-cepan leaves (Castanopsis costata), was empirically used as an antimalarial herb in North Sumatra. Since its use has not been scientifically studied, we investigated the antimalarial activity of extract and fractions of C. costata ...
متن کاملEffect of hydro-alcoholic extract of Ziziphus Jujuba on the peripheral blood cells in Balb/c mice
Introduction: In the Iranian traditional medicine, Ziziphus jujuba is recommended for treatment of anemia, but no investigation has addressed this issue. In the present study, the effect of hydro-alcoholic extract of this plant was evaluated on the peripheral blood cells in male Balb/c mice. Methods: Hydro-alcoholic extract was prepared from the fruits of the Ziziphus jujuba. Male mice were ...
متن کاملTNF-α iNOS Augmentation Due to Macrophages and Neutrophils Activity in Samples from Patients in Intensive Care Unit with COVID-19 Infection
Background and Aims: Cells and secreted molecules by the innate immune system are the essential factors in the pathogenesis and determining the severity of inflammation in COVID-19 patients. Severe inflammation results from increased activity of neutrophils, macrophages, and other cells with their products. Inflammatory cytokines such as tumor necrosis factor-α (TNF-α) increases the severity an...

متن کاملON THE EFFECTS OF ARA-A AND ARA-C ON X-RAY INDUCED DNA LESIONS IN NORMAL HUMAN AND A-T CELLS: SIMILARITIES AND DIFFERENCES.
A better understanding of the mechanism of chromosomal aberration formation could be obtained by using DNA repair inhibitors. Immortalized normal human (MRC 5 SVI) and ataxia telangiectasia ( AT 5 BIV A ) fibroblastic cell lines were treated with adenosine arabinoside (ara-A) and cytosine arabinoside (ara-C), both potent inhibitors of DNA dsb repair, alone or in combination with x-rays at ...
